Triumph over adversity often characterizes the most inspiring success stories. Raghav Meena’s journey from overcoming academic hurdles to pursuing a career in the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) epitomizes this sentiment.
A Notable Achievement:
Raghav Meena, hailing from Kota, celebrated a commendable achievement by securing the 343rd rank in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination 2021.
Persistence Pays Off:
Raghav’s dedication towards his dream of becoming an IAS officer is evident in his three consecutive attempts. Despite missing the mark by just six points in his initial attempt, he remained undeterred.
Family Ties and Support:
Born into a family that values education, Raghav’s father serves as the Chief Block Education Officer in Kota city. With his mother as the backbone of the household and a brother who is an Assistant Director in the Bureau of Indian Standards in Ghaziabad, Raghav always had a supportive environment.
The Turning Point:
Experiencing failure in the 12th grade was a challenging period for Raghav. Subjected to criticism and self-doubt, he transformed these obstacles into motivation. With renewed determination, he decided to relentlessly pursue his ambitions, letting each setback fuel his drive further.
Educational Pursuits:
Raghav completed his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Bhopal in 2017. Following his passion for civil service, he enrolled in an IAS coaching center in Delhi in 2018. His initial attempt in the 2019 civil examination didn’t bear fruit, but he remained unyielding.
Self-Study and Initial Success:
Believing in the power of self-study, Raghav dedicated 6 to 8 hours daily to his preparations. His efforts were rewarded in the 2020 civil examination when he secured the 588th rank, earning him a position in the Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre.
The Pursuit Continues:
Even with an IPS position, Raghav’s IAS aspirations remained alive. In 2021, he took a break from his IPS training to prepare for the civil examination again, showcasing his dedication and commitment.
