In his second UPSC attempt, Karthik was on the cusp of realizing his dream. Missing the IAS position by merely two ranks could have disheartened many, but not Karthik. The foundation of Karthik’s academic prowess was laid early. Studying in a Gujarati medium school until the 8th grade, he showcased his brilliance by clearing the competitive IIT examination. He then pursued engineering from Mumbai. However, the allure of civil service was too strong to resist. The boy who once studied in Gujarati medium had now set his sights on one of India’s most challenging examinations.
