Kriti Raj, a shining beacon of success hailing from Jhansi, soared high when she cracked the rigorous UPSC exam in her very first attempt. Her triumph brought immense pride not just to her hometown of Jhansi but also made the entire state beam with joy.
Jhansi’s very own, Kriti completed her 12th-grade studies at Jai Academy. Her academic pursuit didn’t stop there; she went on to pursue a B.Tech degree in Computer Science from an institution in Jhansi itself. With a freshly minted engineering degree in hand, many might have expected Kriti to embark on a corporate journey. But Kriti had a different vision for her life.
Choosing not to follow the conventional post-B.Tech career path, she found her calling in community service. Passionate about instigating change at the grassroots level, Kriti established an NGO. Through this platform, she dedicated herself to the upliftment of women and children. Her hands-on experiences at the NGO sowed the seeds for a bigger aspiration: the Civil Services. Kriti believed that as an IAS officer, she could make more profound and widespread positive impacts.
Kriti’s journey to UPSC success was marked by sheer dedication and a meticulously planned self-study regimen. The UPSC 2020 exam bore witness to her hard work and determination when she clinched the impressive 106th rank.
Recollecting her preparation days, Kriti shared that she initiated her Civil Services Examination studies in July 2019. For the initial 8-10 months, she diligently dedicated 8 to 10 hours daily to her studies. Recognizing the ever-evolving nature of the UPSC exams, Kriti later pivoted her strategy. She began to lay greater emphasis on current affairs, ensuring she was abreast of the latest happenings nationally and internationally.
