Initial Career Path:

After his studies in Mechanical Engineering from REC College in 1993, Himanshu’s initial stint was in the Department of Public Entrepreneurship between 1994-96, where he earned a modest salary of Rs 2,500. Seeking better opportunities, he joined Pentagon Screw and First Limited Company of Sahibabad, but soon found the corporate life unsatisfying.

Bold Decision:

Despite his mother’s reservations about leaving a secure job for farming, Himanshu heeded his calling. Drawing inspiration from a foreign author’s book on farming, he returned to his roots, literally and figuratively.

Initial Challenges:

Like most pioneers, his initial journey wasn’t without obstacles. Although he faced failures and skepticism from many, the unwavering support of his father and brother kept him going.

Turning Point:

A crucial encounter occurred in 2011 when Himanshu met Subhash Palekar, often referred to as the father of modern agricultural methods, at a seminar in Delhi. Palekar introduced Himanshu to cost-effective natural farming techniques, which Himanshu then embraced wholeheartedly.

Success and Beyond:

Implementing these methods, Himanshu began to see lucrative returns. His 20-acre land now yields Rs 12 lakh per acre, making natural farming both sustainable and profitable. Witnessing his success, many in his vicinity have also been inspired to adopt natural farming techniques.

Scaling Heights:

In addition to his farming, Himanshu’s startup has been thriving. By leveraging zero-cost natural farming, he has been able to secure an annual profit in the ballpark of Rs 14 to 15 crores.

Influencer in Agriculture:

Recognizing his expertise and success, Himanshu has been invited to speak about quality farming at a farmers’ camp in Lucknow on 20th December, where attendees from India and abroad will gather.
