Having experienced success in an international setting, he returned to India with the ambition of tapping into the agricultural potential of his native soil. Education and Initial Career:

With an MBA degree from IIIBM Indore, Ajit was well-poised to have a flourishing corporate career. A multinational company in Germany recognized his potential and roped him in. However, the magnetic charm of India and its fertile soil was something Ajit couldn’t resist for long. Soon, he found himself back, contemplating a future in agriculture.

Seeds of Change:

On his return, Ajit observed farmers profitably cultivating linseed on lands once deemed barren. This sight, coupled with his entrepreneurial spirit, motivated him to venture into pea cultivation. Adopting a scientific approach and dedicating approximately 25 acres of land to this endeavor, Ajit’s farm now boasts an annual turnover of Rs 5 crore.

Beyond Cultivation – A Holistic Approach:

Ajit’s vision wasn’t confined to merely growing peas. He established a comprehensive production unit that undertook grading, processing, and packaging of pea seeds. This vertical integration ensures quality control and boosts profitability. Using superior seed varieties for cultivation, Ajit notes that while the cultivation cost per acre stands at Rs 15,000, the potential returns can soar up to Rs 80,000, varying from season to season.

Expanding Horizons & Community Impact:

The scope of Ajit’s farming initiative extends beyond the local markets. He has been successful in exporting peas to countries like Bangladesh, Europe, and Nepal. This entrepreneurial venture not only made him self-reliant but also spurred economic activity in his village, Jalaun. By providing employment opportunities to local farmers and laborers, he has uplifted the community.
