This means that consumers will not have to wait long to get their hands on the iPhone 15, as it will be locally produced in India. Additionally, Apple has also opened two official stores in India.
Prior to the iPhone 14, Apple only assembled iPhones in India. However, the company has now started manufacturing in the country and holds a 7% share in global iPhone production. Apple aims to increase this share to bring about parity in shipment time between China and India, which currently has a gap of 6 to 9 months. The speed of iPhone 15 production depends on the availability of ready components, as some still need to be imported.
The iPhone 15 series will come with a USB Type-C charger, and the base variant of the series will feature a 48MP camera.
