Lambretta Elettra – the classic Italian brand Lambretta is gearing up for a comeback in India. The company plans to launch its prototype at the 2020 Auto Expo. Along with the electric scooter, Lambretta will also introduce a special steel body Super Lambretta for the Indian market. The scooter will be a 400cc and marks the brand’s return to the Indian market after facing financial troubles due to the entry of Bajaj and Vespa. With the EICMA 2023 edition, Lambretta has showcased its electric scooter concept, named Elettra, which symbolizes the brand’s first production-spec electric scooter. The company claims that the electric motor provides a top speed of up to 110 km/h and offers three riding modes: Ride, Sport, and Eco, promising a maximum range of 127 kilometers.

The Elettra comes with a 4.6 kWh battery pack that can be charged up to 80% in approximately 35 minutes using fast charging. Meanwhile, a 220V home EV charger can achieve the same in about 5 hours and 30 minutes. Other features include a hexagonal headlamp, signature trailing-link front suspension, and a seat height of 780mm. This scooter is owned by Devashish Jethwani, who is an expert in vintage vehicle collection. Jethwani has 17 cars, 44 motorcycles, and 13 scooters, out of which 7 are Lambretta scooters, indicating his true love for the brand. According to Jethwani, this scooter is a 1960 model, which was directly imported from Italy to India, and it took 14 months to fully restore it. The paint on the scooter was specially ordered from Thailand for a cost of 35,000 rupees.
