Early Beginnings
Hailing from the town of Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh, Ashutosh’s life was characterized by challenges from the start. His parents had been wed in a child marriage, and financial difficulties loomed large over his family. Despite these adversities, the flame of education burnt bright in young Ashutosh. He began his schooling in his village, attending classes in Hindi medium, providing him a solid foundation upon which he built his dreams.
From Kanpur to Corporate
As years passed, Ashutosh’s dedication towards his studies led him to Kanpur, where he pursued a B.Tech degree. His journey from a village school to a technical institute in a city was an achievement in itself. Following his graduation, Ashutosh secured a job to support his family, a necessary step given their financial circumstances.
A Brother’s Dream
During this phase, his elder brother made several attempts at the UPSC examination. Each time, he returned unsuccessful, his dream of serving the nation slipping a little further away. Witnessing his brother’s heartbreak, Ashutosh took it upon himself to make this dream a reality.
The UPSC Odyssey
Making a bold decision, Ashutosh resigned from his job to prepare for the UPSC examinations. It wasn’t an easy journey. The path was lined with challenges, and for a grueling five years, he persevered.
In his initial two attempts, success remained elusive. His first try saw him face failure, and even his relentless hard work couldn’t secure a win in his second attempt. Yet, his spirit remained unbroken.
With familial support as his backbone, Ashutosh’s third attempt bore fruit. Although he secured a position in the Indian Police Service, the dream of IAS still eluded him.
However, this partial victory only fueled his determination. While serving as a police officer, Ashutosh continued his UPSC preparation. And then, in 2017, his efforts culminated in success. Securing the All India Rank 70, he achieved the dream, transforming it from his brother’s vision into a reality, making him an IAS officer.
