Suzuki has unveiled the BS6-compliant Access 125cc scooter. This is the company’s first BS6-compliant model. The BS6 Suzuki Access 125 comes with a fuel injection system, while the current models of the scooter have a carburetor fueling system. In addition, Suzuki has also added some new features to the scooter. It is expected to be launched in January next year.

The Access scooter is equipped with a powerful 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that generates 8.7ps of power and 10 Nm of torque. In comparison to the BS4 variant, the power remains the same in the BS6 variant, while the torque has decreased by 0.2Nm.

Currently, the company sells Access 125, Burgman Street, and Avenis scooters in India. In August 2022, the company sold 40,375 units of the Access scooter, which saw a decline of 17.83% compared to the sales of 49,135 units in the same month last year. The scooter had a market share of 9.01% in August.

Earlier this year, the company was granted a special incentive package of Rs. 67.62 crore by the Haryana government to set up a new manufacturing plant in IMT Kharkhoda, Sonipat district. The plant, spread across 2000 acres and with an investment of over Rs. 2000 crore, will create jobs for over 2000 people.
