Hailing from the scenic town of Karnaprayag in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, Mudra’s intellectual prowess was evident early on. She consistently showcased her academic excellence, securing an impressive 96% in her 10th board examinations, followed by a staggering 97% in her 12th.
A Flourishing Medical Career
Her commendable academic achievements in school paved the way for her medical journey. Mudra enrolled in a renowned medical college in Mumbai to pursue BDS (Dental). Her commitment and diligence in the field were recognized when she clinched a gold medal, showcasing her mettle and dedication.
Furthering her passion, Mudra then pursued her MDS in Delhi. With a bright future in the medical field seemingly mapped out, a turning point awaited.
A Father’s Dream Redirects Her Path
While entrenched in her medical studies, Mudra was reminded of her father’s aspirations for her. To honor his dream of seeing her in the esteemed Indian Administrative Services (IAS), she made a daring shift. Abandoning her flourishing medical career, Mudra channeled her energies into preparing for the UPSC examinations.
A Test of Perseverance
In 2018, Mudra debuted in the UPSC Civil Services examination. Her preparation and dedication bore fruit as she reached the interview round. Undeterred by the outcome, she reappeared in 2019, yet narrowly missed final selection. In 2020, she faced another setback, unable to clear the mains exam.
However, Mudra’s spirit remained undaunted. In 2021, her relentless efforts culminated in her achieving the 165th rank, leading to her appointment as an IPS officer.
Realizing a Father’s Vision
While the IPS achievement was significant, Mudra’s father had envisioned her as an IAS officer. With this dream still echoing in her heart, Mudra undertook the UPSC challenge again in 2022. Her hard work, determination, and relentless spirit finally bore fruit. Not only did she clear the exam, but she did so with flying colors, securing the 53rd rank and finally becoming an IAS officer.
