A horrific and disturbing incident occurred in Middletown Township, where a 32-year-old man, Justin Mohn, killed his father and then proceeded to post a video on YouTube holding his father’s decapitated head. This gruesome act has shocked the community and led to the arrest of Mohn on charges of first-degree murder, abuse of a corpse, and possession of an instrument of crime.

The tragedy unfolded on Tuesday when Middletown Township Police responded to a report of a deceased male at the Mohn family home. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered the body of 68-year-old Michael F. Mohn, who had been decapitated. Furthermore, a machete and a large knife were found in the bathtub, and the victim’s severed head was located in a plastic bag inside a cooking pot in a nearby bedroom.

Following the discovery of the crime scene, Justin Mohn was reported missing, along with his father’s white 2009 Toyota Corolla. However, police later received information about a 14-minute video posted on YouTube, in which Mohn was seen wearing the same type of rubber gloves found at the crime scene. In the video, he picked up his father’s decapitated head and identified him by name.

Justin Mohn was ultimately apprehended by the Fort Indiantown Gap Police Department and is currently being held at the Bucks County Correctional Facility without bail. The case is being investigated by the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and the Middletown Township Police Department, with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Fort Indiantown Gap Police Department. The prosecution of this case has been assigned to Deputy District Attorney Ashley C. Towhey and Assistant District Attorney Christine Sassane.

This senseless act of violence has left the community in shock, and our thoughts are with the family of the victim during this difficult time. It is a sobering reminder of the tragic consequences of unchecked violence and the need to support mental health services and intervention.
