A man in Middletown Township, Pennsylvania, has been charged with murder after his father was found beheaded inside their home. The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Justin Mohn, has also been charged with abuse of a corpse and is facing several other charges, according to the police.
The horrific incident occurred on Upper Orchard Drive in Bucks County, where the victim’s wife discovered her husband’s decapitated body covered in blood. Middletown Township Police responded to the scene and found the victim, who was in his 60s, dead in an upstairs bathroom.
Mohn allegedly fled the scene in his father’s vehicle, but was later apprehended at Fort Indiantown Gap, a National Guard training base located about 100 miles from the crime scene. Authorities were able to track him using his cell phone.
The disturbing nature of the crime was compounded by the fact that Mohn allegedly uploaded a video of the decapitation to YouTube. The video, which was viewed at least 5,000 times before being taken down, shows Mohn confessing to the murder and making inflammatory statements about his father and various federal agencies.
According to Middletown Township Police Chief Joe Bartorilla, the motive for the killing is still under investigation. The victim has not been publicly identified, and Mohn is currently being held without bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 8th.
