The 69th edition of the Filmfare Awards took place on Sunday in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, with a star-studded lineup of performers and presenters. The event was hosted by Karan Johar and featured performances by Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Kartik Aaryan, among others.
The award show recognized achievements in Indian cinema, with notable wins for Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and many others. “12th Fail” was the winner of the Best Film award in the Popular category, while “Joram” clinched the Best Film award in the Critics category. Vidhu Vinod Chopra won the Best Director award for “12th Fail,” and Ranbir Kapoor took home the Best Actor in a Leading Role award for his performance in “Animal.”
On the female side, Alia Bhatt won the Best Actor in a Leading Role award for her performance in “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,” while Rani Mukerji and Shefali Shah were recognized as Best Actress Critics for their performances in “Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway” and “Three Of Us,” respectively.
The music and technical categories also saw prestigious wins, with Pritam winning the Best Music Album award for “Animal,” and Bhupinder Babbal receiving the Best Playback Singer (Male) award for his song “Arjan Vailly” from the same film.
