National Girl Child Day is observed on January 24th and it serves as a day to promote awareness about the rights of girls and the importance of female education and health. On this year’s National Girl Child Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media to laud the accomplishments of girls and highlight the potential of every girl in all sectors. He emphasized that girls are change-makers who contribute to making the nation and society better.
In his address, Prime Minister Modi recognized the rich potential of every girl child and the efforts made by the government over the last decade to give every girl the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. One such effort is the launch of the flagship scheme, ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ (Save daughters, educate daughters), by the Modi government in 2015. Telangana Police’s SHE Teams organized comprehensive awareness programs at schools in Hyderabad to promote the importance of the day. These programs were organized under the guidance of the Joint Commissioner of Police Crimes and SIT, Deputy Commissioner of Police Women Safety Wing, and Assistant Commissioner of Police.
The day serves as a reminder of the potential of every girl and the importance of creating opportunities for females to thrive in all areas.
