Post Pandya’s shift to Mumbai, Singh voiced his concerns in a media interaction, emphasizing the sanctity of the official processes set by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for player trades. Singh’s contention lies in the direct approach teams are employing to negotiate player trades, bypassing the prescribed BCCI protocols.
Singh’s statement was unequivocal: “Directly approaching players for IPL trade is incorrect. Teams must adhere to the BCCI’s established procedures. However, this norm was disregarded, leaving our team management deeply dissatisfied.” His remarks underline the clear guidelines set by the BCCI for IPL trading, which, according to him, were not followed in Pandya’s case.
