Undeterred, he tried again, reaching the interview stage in his second attempt, only to miss out on a place in the final list.

His resilience and continuous effort finally bore fruit in 2018. Dilip’s third attempt at the UPSC exam was successful, and he achieved an impressive All India Rank of 72.
