A Journey from Uncertainty to an Administrative Role

Shiv Shakti’s life is not a conventional success story. There were times when he was unfamiliar with the basic educational progression, unaware that after matriculation comes intermediate. Today, this same young man is poised to serve the Bihar government as a revered administrative officer. Specifically, he’s been designated for the esteemed position of Municipal Executive Officer.

Facing Life’s Adversities Head-On

When life struck a devastating blow to Shiv Shakti’s family with the untimely death of his father, Ramashankar Rai, at just 32, the responsibility naturally fell upon his mother. A mere child of three then, Shiv Shakti had his mother, Kalindi Devi, as his unwavering pillar of support. With five siblings in tow, Kalindi Devi embraced multiple roles, tending to buffaloes and toiling in the fields to ensure her children never faced a day of hunger.

Education: The Beacon of Hope

Recognizing the transformative power of education, Kalindi Devi harbored dreams of a brighter future for her children, prioritizing their learning even if it meant additional hours in the fields. Under her guidance, Shiv Shakti pursued his basic education from the nearby government school.

The road to further education wasn’t straightforward for him. Following his matriculation, financial constraints pushed him towards Delhi, taking up a factory job that paid a meager Rs 3300 monthly. But destiny had other plans. On a brief return home, local well-wishers advised Shiv Shakti to pursue his Intermediate studies. Heeding their advice, not only did he complete his Intermediate, but he also pursued graduation from IGNOU in Delhi.

Relentless Pursuit of Dreams

With a heart full of dreams, Shiv Shakti juggled his private job with rigorous UPSC preparations. His dedication saw him attempt the competitive exams multiple times. Although he reached the interview stage once, it was only now that he has truly realized his dream, bringing immense pride to his family and village.
