Not only did Om Prakash secure an admirable 339th rank in the UPSC exams, but he also claimed the first position in the BPSC 64th examination. These accomplishments made him a household name in his community.
Setting Records in Fatuha:
Om Prakash’s achievements made history. He became the first from Fatuha block to clear the UPSC exams. Furthermore, out of 1454 students in BPSC, he stood tall with the first position. Today, he serves with diligence as an IAS officer in the Jharkhand cadre, bringing immense pride to his home region.
Family and Humble Beginnings:
The Gupta family ran a small grocery shop in Sonaru village, operated by Om Prakash’s father, Vindeshwari. Making ends meet was a challenge, with Vindeshwari pedaling to the Fatuha market on his bicycle for stock and then selling goods from their home shop.
