The Indian contingent at the Asian Games 2023 is looking to add more medals to their tally as they compete in tennis, squash, and shooting events. The men’s doubles final in tennis will feature Ramkumar Ramanathan and Saketh Myneni, while the men’s and women’s squash teams will be in action in the semi-final matches. Additionally, the athletics contingent will begin their campaign in the competition.
On Thursday, Sarabjot Singh, Arjun Singh Cheema, and Shiva Narwal won the gold medal in the Men’s 10m Air Pistol Team event. Roshibina Devi also secured a silver medal in the Women’s 60kg Wushu final, and Anush Agarwalla made history by winning India’s first medal in the individual dressage equestrian event at the Asian Games.
In the Women’s 20km Race Walk event, Priyanka Goswami finished fifth with a timing of one hour, 43 minutes, and seven seconds, while Vikash Singh missed out on a bronze medal in the Men’s 20km Race Walk event, finishing in fifth place with a time of 1:27.33. Unfortunately, Sandeep Kumar, another participant in the event, was disqualified due to multiple rule violations.
There is plenty of shooting action to come, with Indians competing in events such as Men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions Qualification and Women’s 10m Air Pistol Qualification. The Indian golfers, Aditi Ashok, Pranavi Urs, and Avani Prashanth, are also in action, with Ashok currently leading the charts after five holes in the second round.
Overall, it promises to be an exciting day for Indian athletes at the Asian Games 2023 as they aim to bolster their medals tally. Stay tuned for more updates and results from the ongoing competition.
