Born in 1979 in the rustic setting of Kundan village in Sikar, Rajasthan, Preeti Chandra’s early education was rooted in the simplicity and authenticity of her

village’s government school. Her drive for further studies saw her pursuing her MA from the renowned Maharani College in Jaipur.

Academic and Professional Prowess:

IPS Preeti didn’t just stop at her MA. She went on to obtain her B.Ed, MA, and MPhil degrees, showcasing a thirst for knowledge. As she delved into journalism in Jaipur, her ambitions soared higher. Juggling her job and UPSC preparations, Preeti’s tenacity paid off when she cleared the UPSC exam in her maiden attempt in 2008, securing a commendable 255th rank.

The Pillars of Support:

Behind Preeti’s success were the unwavering pillars of support – her family. Her mother, despite not having formal education, instilled in Preeti the significance of knowledge and persistently encouraged her academic pursuits. On a personal front, Preeti found love and companionship in Vikas Pathak, a fellow DIG in the police department. Their paths converged at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie, culminating in a love marriage, and together they stood as each other’s strength.

Making a Difference on Duty:

Preeti’s professional journey in the police force has been nothing short of exemplary. From her posting as an ASP in Alwar to her tenure as SP in both Bundi and Kota ACB, she’s held significant roles. Her commitment to justice and public service shone brightly when she dismantled a sinister gang involved in trafficking girls into prostitution in Bundi. Moreover, Preeti’s fearless approach saw her apprehending notorious dacoits, including Hariya Gurjar with a bounty of ten thousand rupees, members of the Ramlakhan gang like Srinivas, and criminals like Shri Ram Gurjar, Kala, and their accomplices.
