Furthermore, the company unveiled a new Jio router and setup box. The setup box will also have the capability to connect smartphones as gamepads.
Chairman of Reliance Jio, Akash Ambani, stated that more than 80% of data consumption in India occurs within homes. He expressed excitement about introducing the Jio Smart Home services, which will change the way we manage our homes and devices.
Through Jio Smart Home services, users will be able to operate all company devices through a single app. This includes the ability to manage Wi-Fi passwords, connected devices, blocking devices, controlling TV, and even gaming. The Jio set-top box will act as a gateway, offering TV channels, streaming content, games on a big screen, digital apps, and much more. The Jio Smart Home app includes the feature of eRemote for the Jio set-top box. This allows users to use their smartphones as gamepads, enabling them to switch between TV and gaming with ease.
Additionally, the Jio Smart Home app provides access to Jio Photos through cloud storage. Users will also receive live feeds and updates from the cameras in their homes through Jio Home’s smart automation alert feature.
