After a hiatus of three years, smartphone brand Honor is set to make a comeback in the Indian smartphone market. Former CEO of Realme, Madhav Sheth, has also confirmed his involvement in this venture. Honor Tech India has officially announced its intention to re-enter the Indian smartphone market. It is now clear that the company is ready to make a second attempt in India and may start with the launch of 90 smartphones.
Earlier this month, Honor hinted at its return to the Indian smartphone market. The company has been preparing to unveil its initial device in the country after more than three years. According to a tweet by Madhav Sheth, Honor smartphones will soon be launched in India. He stated, “Join us on this incredible journey as we empower the future with Honor Tech.”
Honor separated from Huawei in 2020 and brought back its operations to India. During this time, the distribution of the company’s products in India was handled by PSV Global. Under the Honor brand, wearables, tablets, and laptops were launched in the past three years. Now, there is a possibility that the first device to be launched by the brand in India will be the Honor 90.
Popular YouTuber Gaurav Chaudhary, also known as “Technical Guruji,” hinted that the unveiling of the Honor 90 in India could happen in September. Currently, the price of the smartphone has not been disclosed. The Honor 90 will compete directly with smartphones such as Doogee V Max, Blackview BL8800 Pro, Google Pixel 7 5G, iQOO 9T 5G 256GB, OnePlus 7 Pro 256GB, Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Apple iPhone 12, OnePlus 11, and other devices.
