T20 World Cup 2024: In a discussion on Star Sports, Irfan Pathan explained, “I would like to see them both play. The reason for this is the location of the tournament. The World Cup is in the West Indies, and the pitches have evolved. This is an ICC tournament, and we can expect better pitches, particularly for batting conditions. However, looking at the CPL (Caribbean Premier League) and local cricket in the West Indies, batsmen need to work really hard. This is where experience comes into play.”
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma currently hold the top two spots for the most runs scored in T20I cricket. Virat has amassed 4,008 runs, while Rohit boasts 3,853 runs in this format. The decision regarding their inclusion in the T20 World Cup 2024 squad now rests with the Indian selection committee, sparking further anticipation and discussions among cricket fans and experts alike.
