After Sri Lanka’s decision to field upon winning the toss, India’s innings had a rocky start with captain Rohit Sharma’s early dismissal. However, Shubman Gill, unperturbed by this, took command. It’s worth noting that this isn’t Kohli’s first close call in the tournament. In a match against New Zealand earlier on October 22, he missed the century mark by a mere five runs, being out for 95.
