From the buzzing floors of the Maruti factory to the hallowed corridors of the Indian Police Service, Mohita Sharma’s life is a narrative of grit, determination, and relentless pursuit. As the daughter of a worker from the Maruti factory, her journey to becoming an IPS officer was fraught with challenges, yet incredibly inspiring.
Humble Beginnings:
Mohita Sharma hails from Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. The challenges of her socio-economic background made the prospect of cracking the UPSC examination seem like a distant dream. Yet, the fire of ambition burned bright within her.
A Father’s Unwavering Support:
Despite their financial constraints, Mohita’s father was adamant about providing the best possible education for his daughter. A worker at Maruti’s factory, he epitomized sacrifice and hard work. His unwavering belief in Mohita’s potential combined with her dedication eventually culminated in her becoming an IPS officer.
Educational Background:
Mohita’s early education was at Delhi Public School, Dwarka, a testament to her father’s dedication. Further, she pursued her passion for technology by obtaining a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Bharatiya Vidyapeeth College.
The UPSC Quest:
Post her graduation in 2012, Mohita dove headfirst into the rigorous world of UPSC preparation. However, without proper guidance, her journey was riddled with challenges. With no mentors to show her the way, she often found herself navigating the treacherous waters of UPSC on her own.
Learning from Setbacks:
The path to success is rarely a straight one. Mohita faced the crushing disappointment of failing the UPSC exam four times. However, instead of being disheartened, she analyzed her shortcomings, learned from each attempt, and made the necessary adjustments. It was this resilience and ability to adapt that saw her clear the exam on her fifth try.
A Television Triumph:
Mohita’s journey didn’t stop at becoming an IPS officer. She showcased her intelligence and quick thinking on a national platform by participating in the 12th season of the popular quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati. After successfully answering questions that stumped many, she walked away with a whopping one crore rupees. Although she decided to quit on the 16th question, her journey on the show, much like her life, was emblematic of her determination and intelligence.
Mohita Sharma’s life serves as an exemplar that dreams, no matter how distant they seem, can be achieved through dedication, hard work, and an unyielding spirit. Her story stands as an inspiration to countless individuals, proving that one’s background can be overcome by sheer willpower and perseverance.
