The new variant of the Mahindra Thar will be available in a hard top version, equipped with electronic brake locking differential, ESP with roll-over mitigation, and special safety features like hill hold and hill descent control for the rear-wheel drive variant.
Customers will have the option to choose between 16-inch steel all wheels or 18-inch alloy wheels. The price gap between the 4WD and RWD variants could make the new variant more popular. For example, the cheapest Thar Diesel AX(O) 4X2 MT is priced at INR 9.99 lakhs, which is around INR 4.15 lakhs cheaper than the Thar Diesel AC(O) 4X4 MT variant, which is priced at INR 14.15 lakhs.
