In an effort to uncover and resolve this scam, the Gujarat police established a Special Investigation Team. The investigation initially revealed a betting app called “Dhani Data,” targeting residents of Uttar Pradesh as well. Subsequently, the Agra police further delved into the matter. According to the police report, Wu Yannbei, along with his accomplices, created the app, enticing people with promises of high returns before ensnaring them in their web of deceit. Wu Yannbei specifically targeted football lovers, orchestrating daily financial transactions amounting to billions of rupees.
The police apprehended nine individuals from Gujarat in connection with the scam. These individuals confessed that Wu Yannbei had established fake companies for the purpose of transferring money. However, by the time the police filed the First Information Report (FIR), the mastermind had already fled the country. Authorities have revealed that Wu Yannbei continues to operate his network from China, trapping unsuspecting individuals in his schemes.
