Highlights:

– The cost of the Chandrayaan-3 mission is only 615 crore rupees, which is cheaper than recent movies like Barbie and Adipurush.
– The cost of the mission is also lower than the failed Luna 25 mission by Russia, which was estimated to be over 1,600 crore rupees.
– The movie Adipurush, with a budget of 700 crore rupees, is also cheaper than the Chandrayaan-3 mission.
– The mission is even cheaper than the average listed price of a Boeing aircraft.
– The cost of the mission is lower than the prices of Airbus planes like the A321neo, A350-1000, and A350-900.

India has finally taken a step towards the moon by launching the Chandrayaan-3 mission. The mission has a cost of only 615 crore rupees, which is even lower than the cost of recent movies such as Barbie, Adipurush, and Openheimer. It is remarkable how Indian scientists have achieved great success within a limited budget. Comparatively, the cost of the failed Russian Luna 25 mission was estimated to be more than 1600 crore rupees.

In terms of movie budgets, Adipurush, with a budget of 700 crore rupees, is cheaper than Chandrayaan-3. When converted to US dollars, Adipurush is even cheaper than two Hollywood films, Barbie costing $145 million and Openheimer costing $100 million. Interestingly, the production cost of Christopher Nolan’s 2013 space film, Interstellar, which features an Indian solar-powered drone alongside other impressive machines, was 165 million dollars.

To further demonstrate the cost-effectiveness of Chandrayaan-3, it is cheaper than the average listed price of a Boeing aircraft. Air India recently placed an order for several aircraft, including the 737 MAX ($128.25 million), 787-9 ($292.50 million), and 777-9 ($442.20 million).

Considering Air India’s order of 220 aircraft and the confirmed sale of 250 Airbus planes, Chandrayaan-3 is still cheaper. The price of an Airbus 320neo is $110.60 million, while Chandrayaan-3 costs less than an Airbus 321neo ($129.50 million) and is only a fourth of the cost of an A350-1000 ($366.50 million) or an A350-900 ($317.40 million).

It is remarkable to see how the Indian space mission surpasses the cost of movies and even aircraft. With its low budget and great achievements, Chandrayaan-3 is a testament to the determination and innovation of Indian scientists.
