In the serene valleys of Kinnaur, nestled within the quaint Kanam village, a story of ambition, perseverance, and success has emerged. Radhika Negi, a young woman from the region, has recently been appointed as an Assistant Professor of Commerce, bringing immense joy and pride to her family.

Educational Beginnings

Radhika’s educational journey commenced in the prominent Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jakhu, Shimla. With a solid foundation, she went on to pursue her Bachelor’s in Commerce from the esteemed Center of Excellence Government College in Sanjauli. Her zest for knowledge didn’t stop there, as she later enrolled for her Master’s in Commerce at Himachal Pradesh University (HPU).

A Halt in the Journey

However, life had other plans. While Radhika was engrossed in her third semester, an employment opportunity presented itself. She was chosen for a clerical position in the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Kinnaur. This meant that Radhika had to take a break from her academics. But a detour is not always a setback.

Resilience and Pursuit of Dreams

Balancing work and studies is a daunting task. Yet, Radhika, with her unwavering determination, pursued her post-graduation in M.Com from ICDOL. Her hard work bore fruit when she cleared the HP State Eligibility Test (HP SET) in 2021, showcasing her academic prowess.

The Ascent to Assistant Professorship

With the solid foundation of her academic achievements and work experience, Radhika set her sights on a higher goal. In May 2023, she appeared for the Assistant Professor examination in the field of Commerce. The rigorous selection process culminated in an interview in October 2023. The results, which were eagerly awaited, were declared on a recent Friday, confirming Radhika’s selection as an Assistant Professor.

Current Role and The Road Ahead

At present, Radhika Negi holds the position of Personal Assistant in the office of the Assistant Commissioner, within the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Kinnaur. Her journey, from taking a break in her studies for a clerical role to achieving the esteemed position of an Assistant Professor, is a testament to her determination and the power of dreams.
